A study using porcine hemagglutinating encephalomyelitis virus (PHEV) labeled with the lipophilic fluorescent dye DiD discovered that at the first 10 min post-infection, the virus reached the actin-rich protrusion, and subsequently (at ~30 min post-infection), the virus surfed along the filopodia via actin rearrangement for entry by activating Rac1 and Cdc 42 signaling [6,7].
