Chronic inflammation is an important cancer risk factor and meta-analyses haves associated CRP with breast cancer (HR = 1.14 [95% CI, 1.01–1.28]; OR = 1.23 [95% CI, 1.05–1.43]); colorectal cancer (OR = 1.34 [95% CI, 1.11–1.59]); and lung cancer (HR = 2.03 [95% CI, 1.59–2.50]) [64]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and breast carcinoma.
