At annual assessment, adiponectin concentrations were significantly lower in subjects with obesity compared to subjects with overweight (p < 0.05), while Tumor Necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α) (p < 0.05) and leptin (p < 0.01) concentrations were higher in subjects with obesity compared to subjects who were overweight. Here, LEP is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
