Berberine suppresses cancer growth, at least in part, by downregulating miR-21 levels possibly through IL6/)BB, and AMO-miR-21 inhibits cell growth and induces apoptosis; treatment with berberine at 50 μM or higher significantly inhibited cell proliferation STAT3 (most significant for concentrations of 50 μM or higher). Here, STAT3 is linked to cancer.
