Friedlaender et al. recently showed a PFS benefit (but no overall survival benefit) for epithelial growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated with EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) with EGFR mutation allele frequency higher than 30%. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
