A dose-finding and dose-expansion phase 1b trial conducted by Choueiri et al. [140], regarding the use of avelumab, a PD-L1 inhibitor, in association with axitinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKi), in patients with clear-cell renal-cell carcinoma reported one case of myocarditis diagnosed before the first evaluation of the patients, resulting in the death of the patient. This evidence concerns the gene CD274 and clear cell renal carcinoma.
