Comparing genotypes of patients grouped according to multibacillary (MB) clinical form with the control group, SNPs rs639174 (DROSHA), rs636832 (AGO1) and rs4143815 (miR570) were associated with a reduced risk of MB leprosy using a dominant model (p = 0.03; OR = 0.43; 95%CI = 0.19–0.98, p = 0.04; OR = 0.45; 95%CI = 0.21–0.99 and p = 0.03; OR = 0.45; 95%CI = 0.21–0.96, respectively) (Table 2).
