Lyst has been shown to play an immunoregulatory role in the proinflammatory responses of toll-like receptors (TLRs), namely of TLR3 and TLR4 [17], and has been associated with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis following Epstein–Barr infection in a human patient [40]. This evidence concerns the gene TLR3 and hemophagocytic syndrome.
