Changes in the myosin and MyomiR pattern in rodents and on in vitro myocytes have been associated with the suppression of slow fibers, cardiac hypertrophy and dysfunction, and regulation of the myogenic differentiation [13,14,15] via modulation of SRY-Box Transcription Factor 6 (SOX6) [16] and Polypyrimidine Tract Binding Protein 3 (PTBP3, also known as ROD1) [17]. The gene discussed is PTBP3; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
