In comparison to age- and sex-matched controls who did not develop any brain lesion, alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2MG), complement C1q subcomponent subunit B (C1QB), complement C1r subcomponent (C1R), and histidine-rich glycoprotein (HRG) were significantly upregulated in the ischemic stroke patients. This evidence concerns the gene C1R and ischemic stroke.
