MARCKS and inflammatory breast carcinoma: The objectives of our present study were: (i) to determine in vitro the eventual inhibitory effects of MPS on the cell proliferation, migration and invasion, and mammosphere formation in IBC vs. nIBC cells, (ii) to investigate in vitro the distinct molecular mechanisms of action of MPS in IBC compared to nIBC cells, and (iii) to determine the clinical relevance of the target protein component(s), MARCKS and PTEN, in IBC vs. nIBC patients by analyzing diagnostic tumor samples.
