Altogether, our observations show that treatment of HNSCC cells with cetuximab induced the emission of DAMPs in a cell-dependent manner: CAL27 cells treated with cetuximab alone or combined with cisplatin appear to be more prone to the emission of DAMPs (CRT plasma membrane translocation; HMGB1 release; induction of type I interferon response) than SQ20B cells. This evidence concerns the gene HMGB1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
