Our results show that there was a distinct cell-specific localization and expression pattern for each of the antioxidant enzymes studied, i.e., SOD1, SOD2, CAT, GPx1, and GSR, offering protection to various germ and somatic cell populations depending on the developmental stage of the testis, i.e., adult vs. prepubertal, as well as following cessation of spermatogenesis and steroidogenesis during induced infertility with a slow-release deslorelin implant. This evidence concerns the gene SOD2 and Infertility.
