Arruda et al. (2014) found that the expression of PACS-2 was up-regulated in the liver of ob/ob mice and HFD-induced obese mice, and silencing Pacs-2 improved insulin sensitivity and liver steatosis by decreasing MAM integrity and improving glucose metabolism, rather than regulating genes involved in de novo lipogenesis or cholesterol metabolism. Here, PACS2 is linked to fatty liver disease.
