The patient died 13 days after the diagnosis of TB, and it is hypothesized that the combined effect of TB and COVID-19 infections probably caused pronounced lymphocytopenia [33,34], which is a reliable indicator of the severity and hospitalization of COVID-19 patients [34], and, consequently, caused a decrease in CD4 + cells, as described in coinfections with COVID-19 [35] and TB and SARS [36]. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and tuberculosis.
