Coincubation of FOLR1 CAR T cells with patient bone marrow cells resulted in cytolysis of AML cells (Figure 7B and Supplemental Figure 14) and increased secretion of IFN-γ and TNF-α compared with unmodified T cells (Figure 7C), demonstrating sensitivity of the primary AML cells to FOLR1 CAR T cell–mediated killing. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
