The observation that levels of synaptic plasticity in APP/PS1‐MK2−/− mouse are normal and that they can utilize the spatial search strategy to complete the Barnes maze task (Figure S5) identifies the over‐activation of the p38‐MK2 cascade as a potential pharmacological target to correct early synaptic and cognitive impairments associated with the AD‐like pathology observed in APP/PS1 mice. This evidence concerns the gene PSEN1 and Alzheimer disease.
