Similarly, Western blot analysis also showed that jejunal DSG2 protein expression normalized to GAPDH (glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase) in rats was also reduced after administration of a KLF5 inhibitor (CG.M versus CG [0.65 ± 0.22 versus 1.46 ± 0.22], P = 0.002; HF.M versus HF [0.42 ± 0.10 versus 1.21 ± 0.11], P < 0.001; RDN.M versus RDN [0.73 ± 0.11 versus 1.59 ± 0.28], P < 0.001) (Fig. 4E and F).
