A previous study showed that ATP2B2 is associated with milk production traits and mastitis (Ogorevc et al., 2009), and the most significant SNP (BTA22:55263235, p-value = 2.37E-18) in the GWAS of TD7 FP is located in the intronic region of ATP2B2. PLBD1 is an important candidate gene for fatty acid composition in milk (Atashi et al., 2020). The gene discussed is ATP2B2; the disease is mastitis.
