For tumor types where the class size was sufficient to allow robust training, over 90% of tumors exhibiting a strong p53 transcriptional signature with a likelihood of >0.75 were found to have a corresponding TP53 mutation (95, 96, 97, and 91% of tumors respectively for breast invasive carcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, brain lower grade glioma and lung adenocarcinoma). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and lung adenocarcinoma.
