Over decades, several immunohistochemical markers have been implicated for the accurate diagnosis of DFSP in multiple contexts, such as Apo D (Lisovsky et al., 2008), Cthrc1 (Wang et al., 2011), nestin (Sellheyer et al., 2009), the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family (Weinrach et al., 2004; Kim et al., 2007; Chen et al., 2012), and WT-1 (Piombino et al., 2021). The gene discussed is WT1; the disease is dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans.
