The regions in the DUX4 co-methylated network mapped to genes that were primarily associated with functions related to gene regulation, metabolism, immunity and inflammation, NDDs, oxidative stress, obesity and adipogenesis, Wnt signaling, glutamatergic synapses, endoplasmic reticulum, and reproduction (Table 3). Here, DUX4 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
