In parallel, the DNA methylation analysis allowed us to identify that miR199-3p is silenced by promoter hypermethylation promoting metastasis formation (Desjobert et al., 2019) and that PCDHB15 plays a role in inhibiting invasion, aggregation, and lung metastasis formation in vivo when stably overexpressed in metastatic melanoma cells (study ongoing). The gene discussed is PCDHB15; the disease is metastatic melanoma.
