Despite this low overlap, 45 genes were consistently observed across at least 3 studies, and these include canonical markers of mesenchymal cells, such as Vimentin (VIM), Fibronectin (FN1), Podoplanin (PDPN), and collagen (COL1A1/2) as well as genes frequently noted as key markers of glioma MES (CHI3L1 and CD44). The gene discussed is CHI3L1; the disease is glioma.
