The pathogenesis of CSWS: central nervous system lesions or surgery, trauma, and other factors stimulate the hypothalamus and other parts, which can lead to increased secretion of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and lead to increased glomerular filtration rate, increased salt and water excretion, and cerebral salt wasting syndrome (CSWS). This evidence concerns the gene NPPA and developmental and/or epileptic encephalopathy with spike-wave activation in sleep.
