A study by Showalter et al. (16) overexpressed CCT2 by 1.3–1.8-fold in breast cancer cells by a lentiviral vector and found that cells overexpressing CCT2 were more aggressive and had a higher proliferation index, while CCT2 depletion in a homozygous mouse model of triple-negative breast cancer prevented tumor growth. The gene discussed is CCT2; the disease is neoplasm.
