To further study the transcriptional modifications occurring in the turmeric oil-supplemented group against co-infection, the in vivo temporal expression of C3 (involved in both innate and adaptive immune response), transferrin (acute phase protein involved in innate immune response), and interleukin 1β genes (IL-1β) (pro-inflammatory cytokine) was investigated and compared with positive and negative control groups. Here, IL1B is linked to coinfection.
