Researchers from our group previously examined associations between plasma inflammatory biomarkers (e.g., C3, cystatin C, interleukin 6, soluble CD163, and soluble CD14) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in 79 virally suppressed, older PWH compared to 47 human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-seronegative controls (Bryant et al., 2016). Here, CD14 is linked to metabolic syndrome.
