Both AChE-R and AChE-Next mRNA levels were elevated (p < 0.05) in the amygdala (Figure 4A), while AChE’s enzyme activity was unchanged (Figure 4B) and AChE-S mRNA transcripts presented a trend of decrease in the substantia nigra of PD compared to control donors (p < 0.1) (Figure 4C). Here, ACHE is linked to Parkinson disease.
