In PCOS patients, dysfunction in the GnRH neuronal network in the brain resulted in decreased responsiveness to gonadal steroid hormone negative feedback, destroying the afore-mentioned feedback loop and causing rises in GnRH pulse frequency, increasing LH pulse frequency, decreasing FSH pulse frequency, and abnormally increasing the LH/FSH ratio (27). This evidence concerns the gene BRD2 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
