However, the number of positively staining cells for both leukocytes markers, F4/80 and CD45, were significantly higher (p ≤ 0.0001) in meprin β‐expressing mice (WT) when compared to meprin β‐deficient mice (βKO) subjected to IR, suggesting a role for meprin β in enhancing leukocyte infiltration in IR‐induced kidney injury.
