More specifically, variants in ACTN2 and subsequent alterations in alpha‐actinin‐2 structure or expression have been previously associated with several types of cardiomyopathies (hypertrophic, dilated, and arrhythmogenic), with or without left ventricular compaction (Bagnall et al., 2014; Chiu et al., 2010).
