AHR and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis: Interestingly, in the regulation of Th17, available evidence suggests that in vitro use of TCDD activates AhR to promote Th17 differentiation (87), but in vivo, TCDD leads to a decrease in Th17 numbers and suppresses experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) occurrence (76), this interesting phenomenon may be due to the fact that humans express the lower-affinity AhR (88), and the difference in affinity of AhR affects the amount of IL-17 and IL-22 produced by Th17 cells, and the number of these cytokines is significantly lower in the mouse model expressing the low affinity AhR.
