Eltanexor (Elt), a small-molecule inhibitor of XPO1, produces antitumor effects in leukemia, multiple myeloma, and lymphoma (Taylor-Kashton et al., 2016), and the first-generation inhibitor Sel has been shown to specifically inhibit XPO1-mediated nuclear protein export and to inhibit the NF-κB signaling pathway by increasing the nuclear accumulation of IκBα (Nair et al., 2017). The gene discussed is XPO1; the disease is leukemia.
