It is well known that zinc is effective in the treatment of respiratory tract infection (RTI) as it reduces the duration of symptoms as well as decreases the severity of the disease, (Hunter et al., 2021), through its ability to inhibit an angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and consequently impairs the ability of infection (McPherson et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and Respiratory tract infection.
