BDNF and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: The protective cellular responses that we have observed with ILB® treatment after sTBI, including normalization of mitochondrial function, reduction in oxidative stress, suppression of glutamate excitotoxicity and attenuation of pro-inflammatory signaling are all in accord with the known activities of HGF and BDNF and are directly relevant to the pathogenesis of ALS and other neurodegenerative conditions.
