CTLA4 and neoplasm: Dying tumor cells treated with ICD could release tumor-related antigens and damage-related molecular patterns (DAMPs), which were able to stimulate a specific anti-tumor immune response, promote the maturation of dendritic cells (DCs) and recruit special T cells, and ultimately inhibit metastasis of tumor cells with the cooperation of anti-cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (anti-CTLA4) checkpoint blockade.
