Therefore, on the basis of all the observations in the current study, it is proposed that the NF-κB/MMP-8 axis mediates the protective effects of P2Y4 ablation against S-AKI and that P2Y4 knockdown attenuates S-AKI in mouse models through suppressing the activation of the NF-κB/MMP-8 axis.
