Unexpectedly, in our study, FBXW7 inactivation via siRNA-based knockdown or CRISPR/Cas9-based knockout significantly induced senescence in lung cancer (A549 and H460), colon cancer (HCT116), breast cancer (MCF7), and osteosarcoma (SJSA) cells, suggesting that this is a common phenomenon (Fig. 1 and Fig. S1). The gene discussed is FBXW7; the disease is lung carcinoma.
