As we found that MDSCs from HFHCD fed mice tended to be more immunosuppressive, it would be interesting to evaluate the link, in conditions of chronic low-grade inflammation, between VEGF-A and the expression of inhibitory checkpoints on immune cells, as VEGF-A produced in the tumor microenvironment was recently shown to enhance expression of several inhibitory checkpoints involved in CD8+ T cell exhaustion50. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is neoplasm.
