Soeki et al. reported that the continuous infusion of CNP for 2 weeks after myocardial infarction suppressed cardiac fibrosis and attenuated left ventricular dysfunction [32], while Sangralingham et al. found that circulating CNP declined during aging and that the effect was strongly negatively correlated with left ventricular levels of interstitial fibrosis in rats [53]. This evidence concerns the gene CNP and myocardial infarction.
