For quantitative analysis, we assessed the percentage of YAP+ nuclei of all nuclei of E-cadherin–positive cells in the lower part of the gland, where the signal was absent in homeostatic conditions, confirming active YAP signaling upon infection in the presence of RSPO3 signaling (Figure 7H), with enhanced signaling upon Rspo3 overexpression, and reduced active YAP signaling in mice that lack Rspo3 expression. This evidence concerns the gene YAP1 and infection.
