AKR1B10 and cancer: AKR1B10 has been implicated in cell survival through its regulation of lipid metabolism and elimination of carbonyls (Martin and Maser, 2009; Wang et al., 2009; Qu et al., 2021) and has primarily been described as a biomarker of cancer (Fukumoto et al., 2005; Jin et al., 2006; Díez-Dacal et al., 2011).
