Wharton et al. (2005) reported that the expression of the MCM2 was associated with the burden of Alzheimer-type pathology. Bonda et al. (2009) proved that phosphorylated MCM2 (pMCM2) was markedly associated with neurofibrillary tangles, neuropil threads, and dystrophic neurites in AD. The study of Mezache et al. (2015) showed that as a marker of the neuroprogenitor cells, the expression of MCM2 was significantly reduced in the Alzheimer sections that contained the hyperphosphorylated Tau. Here, MAPT is linked to Alzheimer disease.
