We found that XBP1 was highly expressed in the majority of tumors, including breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), acute myeloid leukemia (LAML), ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma (OV), prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD), skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), testicular germ cell tumor (TGCT), thymoma (THYM), uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC) and LUAD, but not pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD) (Figure 1A). The gene discussed is XBP1; the disease is testicular germ cell tumor.
