We recently reported that higher levels of serum plasmalogens weaken or nullify the associations between age and APOE e4 allele status and AD and cognition (Goodenowe and Senanayake, 2019) and that increasing circulating DHA plasmalogen levels using a plasmalogen precursor had positive effects on cognition and mobility (Goodenowe et al., 2022). Here, APOE is linked to Alzheimer disease.
