APOE and dementia: Carrying a higher number of APOE ε4 alleles was associated with greater risk of dementia (HR 1.98 [95% CI 1.73–2.27]), lower cognitive function z–score (‐0.08 [‐0.12 to ‐0.05]), and greater weight loss between baseline and follow‐up (‐0.40 [‐0.62 to ‐0.18] kg weight change per ε4 allele) (Supplementary Information Figure S5).
