Among angiotensin-II-receptor blockers (ARB), telmisartan has been found to reduce insulin resistance by activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ).[10] Telmisartan showed superior ability to improve insulin resistance induced by rosuvastatin 10 mg compared to other ARBs.[11] However, studies on the effects of telmisartan on changes in glucose metabolism including insulin resistance caused by high-intensity statins are lacking. This evidence concerns the gene PPARG and Insulin resistance.
