Research studies have investigated HAVCR2 mRNA and protein expressions are significantly upregulated across diverse cancers and associated with poor prognosis in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), COAD, bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), and stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) (Cao et al., 2013; Jiang et al., 2013; Yuan et al., 2014; Yang et al., 2015; Zhou et al., 2015). This evidence concerns the gene HAVCR2 and cervical squamous cell carcinoma.
