More recently, in a model of hepatic fibrosis in rats injected intraperitoneally with CCl4, Kong et al. recently provided evidence that curcumin (100, 200, 400 mg/kg) inhibited TGF-β/Smad signaling transmission by activating autophagy, thereby inhibiting EMT, further inhibiting the production of MFBs to protect against hepatic fibrosis (Kong et al., 2020). Here, TGFB1 is linked to Hepatic fibrosis.
